Dark and dramatic as a broody ghazal, Dil Ras in black Indian silk features a full-sleeved choli that is dotted with a constellation of miniature motifs embroidered in metallic and silken threads, making it a starry sky of its own. The lehenga begins in deep maroon panels that gently bleed into black, layered with printed and embroidered cypress trees and Levantine palmettes that rise like architectural sentinels. Each motif is carefully block printed and hand-embellished with glittering mirrorwork, sequins, and golden thread. The hemline is circled with rich maroon and gold borders, stacked and layered like antique inlay on a treasure chest. The organza dupatta carries maroon and gold floral sprays across its breadth, shimmering with gota pati and adda work, edged with embroidered trims on all four sides.
